SEND and Learning Support
The Learning Support Department is led by Sian Boatwright, SENCo, and is made up of a large team of experienced staff including teachers, teaching assistants and learning support assistants. The learning support team is based in the Student Support Centre which provides the team with a base from which to work with individuals and small groups of students. As a team we provide advice, guidance and support to students, staff and parents.
The Student Support Centre benefits from a specialist visual impaired resources room. The centre is open at all times of the day, supporting students with a wide range of needs.
We offer an extensive and well organised programme of support, delivered by enthusiastic and effectively trained staff. A large proportion of the support is classroom based with our learning support assistants working closely with subject teachers to enhance the learning experience of the students. Students are also supported outside of lessons through the highly successful Prep Club, four evenings a week. The learning support department aims to work closely with parents, students and staff to ensure that all students achieve their full potential and enjoy their learning.
