The KS4 Curriculum
Students at Monk’s Walk School will follow either the Edexcel combined science GCSE specification or Edexcel GCSE specifications in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Our combined students have two science teachers each who teach their specialism and share the teaching of the third science. Specialists in the three sciences teach all separate science students. Throughout their GCSE science experience, students will get the opportunity to engage in the curriculum through experiments, problem-based learning and investigate scientific links to “real life”. As well as learning key concepts across the three sciences such as biological processes, chemical bonding and energy transfers more cutting-edge science such as the Human Genome Project, global warming and alternative energy resources.
