The PSHCE curriculum has been designed to reflect the ever-changing world that our students live in. We aim to prepare them for their futures, reflect on current issues, question, analyse and justify their views, whilst respecting those held by others. Our curriculum encourages tolerance through education and raises awareness of sensitive topics in a safe environment. We build on skills through a structured, age-appropriate curriculum that encourages students to be well-informed, responsible and proactive citizens in their communities.
Mrs Mitchinson - Head of PSHCE
What is it like to study PSHCE at Monk's Walk School?
Students are challenged by the subject content which is delivered in a proactive context. Lessons combine verbal discussion, interactive activities, video clips and material from leading authorities and charities – which ensure lessons are engaging, relevant and varied.
How is PSHCE Assessed?
Assessment is predominantly made through verbal presentations, debates, contributions in lessons and short, concise written tasks.
Students are encouraged to share their views, support and challenge those held by others in a sensitive and mature manner.
