The KS3 Curriculum
Over the course of years 7, 8 and 9 our students study all the key areas of maths; number, proportion, algebra, geometry (shape), probability and statistics.
Each year the skills and knowledge covered build on the work they have covered in the previous year(s), including in year 7 where we consolidate and develop their understanding from primary school.
As well as covering the mathematical content; lessons are delivered with a focus to build students' confidence at applying mathematical skills and problem solving. Each year students in years 7, 8 and 9 will complete a number of projects which strive to combine multiple previously covered topic areas as well as bringing creativity and real-life scenarios into the classroom.
We aim for students to master the skills covered during KS3 so they have solid foundations to build on when they begin the GCSE course in the summer term of year 9.
