Monk’s Walk School is a popular and heavily over-subscribed school with 236 places in Years 7-11 (as of Autumn 2026).
Year 6 to 7 Application
Year 6 into 7 admissions are controlled by the Local Authority. Students apply for transfer during Year 6 and are allocated places according to Hertfordshire County Council protocols. In Year Application
We manage our own in year admissions for all students. If you wish for your son or daughter to join us at Monk's Walk please complete the In Year Admissions form. This includes in year applications for Year 7. Once we have received your completed In Year Admissions form you will receive an email confirmation of this within 72 hours. Please check your junk email if you have not received this.

In accordance with the requirements of the Department of Education's School Admissions Code 2021, Monk's Walk School, Welwyn Garden City is consulting on their admissions arrangements for the academic year 2027/28.
As a result of consultation, we can now provide the agreed admission arrangements for 2027/2028.
